“Keep my commands and follow them. I am the Lord. Do not profane my holy name. I must be acknowledged as holy by the Israelites. I am the Lord, who makes you holy and who brought you out of Egypt to be your God. I am the Lord.”

Leviticus 22:31-33

Sometimes we can be tempted to think about what good people we are and about how hard we try to obey God. But we need to remember that He is the one who makes us holy. He even made a point to tell us this in the Old Testament long before Jesus came to take our sins and give us the power of the Holy Spirit.

It’s impossible for us to live up to His holy standards on our own. But if we give ourselves to Him, He will make us holy.

Dear Lord, thank you that you are constantly making us into your holy image. Give us the courage to embrace the molding you do in our lives. In Jesus’ name, amen.
